YSR’s son, brother lead list of aspirants
As the race for the Congress tickets in the general elections gathered momentum, kith and kin of several senior ruling party leaders are trying their luck in Andhra Pradesh.
Over 20 families of Congress leaders in various combinations like father-son-daughter, husband-wife, brothers and brother-sister are eyeing the ticket for the Assembly or the Lok Sabha.
With Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy sticking to the Pulivendula seat, the choice for the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat is now between son Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and his brother Y. S. Vivekananda Reddy. Similarly, APCC chief D. Srinivas initially proposed to shift to the Nizamabad Lok Sabha seat and field his son and City Mayor D. Sanjay from Nizamabad Urban Assembly seat.
Among the Ministers, Panchayat Raj Minister J.C. Diwakar Reddy wants the Anantapur Lok Sabha ticket for his brother J.C. Prabhakar Reddy.
Not to lag behind, Dharmana brothers — Revenue Minister Prasada Rao and Krishna Das — want the Srikakulam and Narsannapet Assembly seats respectively.
Even the Anam brothers — Ramnarayan Reddy and Vivekananda Reddy — are seeking Sarvepalli and Nellore City tickets. Information Technology Minister R. Damodar Reddy and his brother R. Ram Reddy, whose seats have been abolished after delimitation, want alternative seats. Tandur MLA M. Narayan Rao and his MLC brother M. Manik Rao are slugging it out for the ticket. Mallu brothers — Ravi and Bhatti Vikramarka — want Jadcherla and Wyra Assembly seats respectively.
Politician couples such as Nedurumalli Janardhan Reddy-N. Rajyalakshmi, Housing Minister Botsa Satyanarayana-Botsa Jhansi, Daggubati Venkateswara Rao-Daggubati Purandeswari and Kotla Suryaprakash Reddy-Kotla Sujathamma want Assembly or Parliament tickets.
Congress MLA Konda Surekha and her husband, who is the Warangal DCCB chairman, want the Assembly tickets.
There is also no dearth of aspirants among the sons and daughters of leaders.
Not to be left behind
Some of the names doing the rounds include that of CWC member G. Venkataswamy favouring his two sons, Labour Minister G. Vinod and industrialist G. Vivekanand for the Assembly as well as the Lok Sabha.
Tribal Welfare Minister D.S. Redya Naik wants the Mahabubabad Lok Sabha seat for himself and the Dornakal (ST) Assembly seat for his daughter.
I feel Y.S.Jagan should not contest Lok Sabha polls. Otherwise who will look after the vast empire he built up and booty of thousands of crores?

Jagan didn’t come from a family of 2 acre chandra babu or muhaniki rangulu kottukoni agire drama artists NTR or Chiranjeevi. They have been rich for generations, from a landlord family. Ofcourse he a business tycoon who amasses huge wealth because of inheritance and family connections. He has come to media with a grudge-no longer will he let a couple of pro-TDP kamma folks dominate the media business. He is 36 and for the past 8 years or so he has been a solo-entrepreneur. He is on his own, he will make it big time. On every level, and on every front he will take up kammas, inch by inch, piece by piece, he will compete against them. He is like the howard hughes ‘aviator’ character-born into a rich family but will not let one sect of people dominiate the media and entertainment business.
Having said that I also think Lokesh Narra will be also a good business man. I know from close fronts that he is doing a good job learning things fast at Heritage foods. But what I believe he should be on his own-venture into his own business not a family business.
Lets wish both of them a bright future!

I felt sad to see the news item about graduates in AP topping in the country in taking money in return for their votes.
It is time that all the youth in AP should come under the influence of JP and strive for a rule with high standards and ethics in public life.
Mr RAJ, I agree with you to certain extent not completely. can you tell me whats the name of telugu desam youth wing? or BJP youth wing? or any other party. If prajaraajyam would have given youth wing president to people like you or me or any one else, then even yuvaraaajyam also would be in the same position. its because of pawan people are talking about it.
One more thing is Pawan has already told that PRP has given that post to make a remarkable organization among youth and just to kick start its activities and their target is to make youth between 25-34 age as youth wing president. since pawan is more than 34, he him self told he is not the right person for that age group and it will be transferred to a young and dynamic leader at a later point of time. He also said I have accepted this position to bring as much as popularity for this wing in youth.
Even I am a good fan of LokSatta. Even then I see lots of problems with that as well. Things like… A one man army party, unable to find some more good leaders to lead from past one decade… etc etc. And the change that lok satta is saying crores of miles away from the facts and current political senario. What i mean to say here is problems will be every where. it depends on how you see it.
To bring change first thing needed in current political senario is a person who can attract Mass (as they are the major percentage of voters) and who has social consciousness. JP has social consciousness but no ability to attract masses. Chiranjeevi is having both.
So Here is what i think, Change can be a 2 step process. first is invite chiru to form govt. with his ideologies and bring at least some change in masses or voter mindset, so that at least they can start thinking what is right and what is wrong for them. once that change is brought in minds of masses then bring the remaining set of ideologies that JP is talking about. you can say… how do you know chiru will bring change in masses mindset. I will say.. No body knows unless we give a chance to know what he can do. There is nothing wrong in giving a fair person a chance rather than giving a person who has already done some damage to the peoples social life.
If you think negatively you can always say there are lots of nonsense things happening in PRP which we are seeing daily in media. Keep one thing in mind… The words “Change” and “Social Justice” are not just words nor simply a mathematical calculation of “number of seats” int “”percentage of each caste” divided by 100. Its is very very difficult to bring change in a society or politics which has already in certain bad shape from decades.
I would want to give support for Loksatta for the same reasons but only reason i am stepping back is the inability to attract masses who are 90% of todays voters.
All I hope is more competetive politics with a 3rd option and for that reason I would not hesitaite to reccomend PR, LK is a long shot for this time….I think the PROCESS of CHANGE will distribute power/wealth and make POLITICS competeive[ service or self service]…I do not want to waste my wait votign for LK or BJP this time.

In my view/concern - BJP failed as a National Party when it failed to show leadership during river water sharing issues between TN,AP, KARNATAKA and MH.
I can Speak for BJP, It is Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha. And The Student Wing is Akhila Bharata Vidyarthi Parishad.
I accept BJP is Not A Major Player in AP. But, An Anti Congress Non TDP Voter Urban Voter can Easily Distinguisn between Assembly and Lok Sabha Candidates and He/She Would Vote for BJP At National Level as Voting for any other party at National Level is bringing back Anti-National, Anti-Hindu, Pro-Jedahi,Evangelical congress back at centre as part of unethical perverted alliance.
